1. Sports Field Introduction
The stadium is designed in the shape of a lotus, featuring a graceful and dynamic form with 28 large petals and 27 smaller ones. It resembles a stunning lotus flower blooming by the river. This venue will host track and field events, football finals, as well as the opening and closing ceremonies. The total construction area is 213.692 m², with a height of 59.4 m, comprising six floors above ground and one below. It has a seating capacity of 80.011 and is classified as a super large sports facility.
2. Sports Field Lighting Standards
The classification regulations for sport lighting are outlined in Table 1.
Table 1: Classification of Sports Stadiums and Gyms
As the primary venue, the stadium will accommodate the opening and closing ceremonies, along with football and track and field competitions. The design for lighting during events should also consider the stadium's use after matches. The lighting system must be controllable by level and area, allowing for the switching on and off of different lighting modes. An intelligent lighting control system is recommended, with sports field lighting for the competition area set to standards V to VI.
For this project, the horizontal illumination on the podium should be at least 200 lx, while the minimum horizontal illumination for audience seating should be no less than 50 lx. Additionally, the horizontal illumination for audience seating and safety lighting in the sports area should not fall below 20 lx.
3. Best Selection of Sports Field Lighting Fixtures
According to the venue construction requirements, the lighting source must have an appropriate color temperature, not exceeding 6.000 K, and should offer good color rendering, high light efficiency, long lifespan, and stable ignition and photoelectric properties. To create the optimal working environment for the endpoint camera, the lighting in this area should provide Ev = 1.400 lx to meet shooting requirements and facilitate aperture adjustments from day to night. The LED lighting system is advantageous for sports field lighting due to its flexibility and ease of operation. This project will utilize LED lamps for venue lighting, audience seating, emergency lighting, and training field lighting. The venue lighting will consist of 1.400 W lamps with a color temperature of 5.700 K and a color rendering index of 90. The power factor of the LED lamps will exceed 0.9. with total harmonic distortion (THDi) not exceeding 10%, and a flicker ratio of less than 1%.
1150W lamps are utilized for lighting in auditoriums, emergency situations, and training grounds, featuring a color temperature of 5700K and a color rendering index of 75. The power factor for LED lamps exceeds 0.9. with a total harmonic distortion current (THDi) not exceeding 10% and flicker levels below 1%.
4. Best Lighting Configuration
The stadium includes a double-circular horseway, with dual-layer lighting positioned in the center of the front horseway and single-row lighting in the back horseway. The layout of the horseway is illustrated in Figure 2. The horseway measures 1.2 m in width and 1.8 m in height. A cable tray is installed in layers along the inner wall of the horseway, with a 0.4 m gap between the upper and lower layers.
The spacing between lamps exceeds 500 mm, allowing for effective heat dissipation and preventing thermal interference between the fixtures. The stadium's overall design is elliptical, and the horseway follows an elliptical ring configuration that aligns with the stadium's shape. Sports court lighting fixtures are arranged symmetrically along both the long and short axes. There are heightened illumination requirements in the areas before and after the finish line for track events. To accommodate the needs of the arbitration camera, four additional sets of lamps were installed. A total of 644 units of 1400 W LED professional sports court lighting fixtures are designated for the competition area, while 68 units of 1150 W LED professional sports court lighting fixtures are allocated for audience seating, and 20 units of 1150 W LED professional sports court lighting fixtures are reserved for emergency lighting in the venue.

5. Best Smart Lighting Control System
The lighting control approach utilizes intelligent management. The dimming system incorporates physical buttons along with touch screen controls, allowing operation from anywhere within the local area network's range.
This lighting control system employs the DMX512 dimming protocol, ensuring that the communication protocol is open for integration with other lighting control systems. When connecting or sharing with other systems, the normal operation of the venue's lighting must remain unaffected. Programs can be modified or created at any time. Additionally, the control system features an automatic branch delay start function to prevent surge currents that may occur from the simultaneous activation of multiple lamps.
The lighting in the competition venue must meet the highest standards for high-definition broadcasting and can be adjusted in a gradual decrease. The lighting control must support instant on/off capabilities, light shows, and synchronization with music to enhance the sports presentation during events, while also accommodating varying illumination needs for different event levels through dimming.
Each driver box includes a built-in control panel, and all drivers can be interconnected via signal control lines to enable dimming control and remote diagnostics. The controller's rated current in the intelligent lighting control system must be at least equal to the calculated current of its circuit, and its rated voltage should match that of the circuit. Given that the controller is housed in a control cabinet, which has poor heat dissipation, and considering Hangzhou's hot summers, a derating factor of 0.8 to 1 is applied.
